  • SpeakDance CNY, Onondaga County
    Dance in the Park 2025 I $1,000
    SpeakDance CNY brings back to the Manlius Swan Pond Pavilion “Dance in the Park” for 2025! With new and exciting creations to the “Across the Spiderverse” and “Succession” TV show soundtracks, there is a little something for all ages. No need to travel to a major urban market for professional outdoor dance programming! 2 pieces will be performed by up-and-coming local adolescent dancers as part of SpeakDanceCNY2, to encourage the next generation of performers, as well.
  • Civic Morning Musicals, Onondaga County
    2025 Vocal Youth Programs I $1,000
    The Civic Morning Musicals Vocal Competition on February 8, 2025, offers young classical singers (ages 17-27) from the region the opportunity to perform for an esteemed panel of judges for feedback and compete for prestigious prizes. Contestants present a diverse, memorized repertoire, including opera and oratorio arias, art songs, and American compositions.

    Creative Minds I $1,000
    Creative Minds promises all walks of life the opportunity to showcase their creative talent, giving themselves and others a chance to show their true vulnerable self and to develop deeper and future connections and bonds. This event will take place on August 2nd 2025 at the Everson Museum of Art.
  • 560 Art Collective, Onondaga County
    Summer and Fall Programming I $996
    DIY Zine Workshop: Learn briefly about the history of DIY zines before diving into creating your own paper zine! All skill levels welcome and feel free to bring zines to swap! Life Drawing: A 5-month life drawing series with live models, offering peer feedback and guidance from an instructor. Each session will be 2 hours long and drawing materials will be provided at no cost.
  • Brunch N Bible Study, Onondaga County
    2nd Annual Survivor’s Poetry Night I $1,000
    Brunch N Bible Study, Inc presents our 2nd annual Melodies of Hope – Survivor’s Poetry Night. This event invites survivors of Domestic Violence to share their stories and experiences through artistic expression such as spoken word, poetry, dance, music and monologues. It will also include guest speakers, a candle light ceremony, and a special tribute to a chosen individual in the community who has demonstrated extraordinary strength, courage, and perseverance in their healing journey.
  • Deviant Productions, Onondaga County
    Thinning of the Veil 2025 I $1,000
    Thinning of the Veil is an immersive art and dance production with a Halloween theme showcasing a unique guided tour where audience members witness dance, performance, and visual art experiences through a “veil.” Unlike traditional stage performances, the audience uniquely views the production, standing directly beside or in front of performers. The “veil” that each audience member will engage through allows them to feel disconnected but present, creating a surrealistic environment.
  • Book VanGo, Onondaga County
    Read, Write, Create; A Child’s Artistic Response to Stories I $1,000
    A 3 session summer literacy/art program for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd graders. Participants will be given a set of 3 new books to read and respond to during the summer 2025. A certified art teacher will lead participants through an artistic response to the books. (painting, puppetry, collage, 3D creations) This artistic program promotes the love of reading!
  • Pink Rock Culture Co-op, Onondaga County
    The COSMOs (celebrating Original Syracuse Music) I $976
    Pink Rock Culture Co-op Presents: The COSMOs (Celebrating Original Syracuse Music) is an annual celebration honoring the original works of our music community. Free to the public, all-ages, and intoxicant-free event. The event is one to build a united music scene, create fellowship, and encourage camaraderie within the local music community. The first Annual Event took place: Friday, April 4th, 6-10pm at City Hall Atrium, 201 E Washington St, Syracuse, NY.
  • German-American Society of CNY, Onondaga County
    Annual German language and heritage celebration event I $700
    In 2025 the German-American Society is holding its 23rd annual Student Scholarship Program. At our Scholarship Dinner on Monday, April 28, scholarships will be awarded to outstanding local high school seniors who have studied the German language. The event will include a traditional German dinner, music, and dancing. Each scholarship winner will give an acceptance speech – in German (wtih English translation)! All interested community members are invited to attend.
  • Great Northern Artist Collaborative, Onondaga County
    Lighting Equipment I $1,000
    GNAC will use funds from CNY Arts to replace and upgrade many of its lighting fixtures. When founded, GNAC purchased small, discounted LED lights that weren’t ideally suited for theatrical productions. GNAC’s designers made due with them, but as the company grows and expands to larger productions, the currently lighting fixtures are proving more inadequate. GNAC will start replacing fixtures with theater-quality LED fixtures that better meet the needs of the space and productions.
  • Wacheva Cultural Arts, Onondaga County
    Joy After a Good Harvest of the Year I $1,000
    After a good harvest in Africa, the entire village, children and parents, gather to celebrate the harvest’s success through the rhythm of drums, songs, and dances. Wacheva would like to organize four weeks of community joy through free weekly drum lessons and dance performances at Thornden Park. People can watch or participate. This project will bring together people from different neighborhoods. That’s what Wacheva means: UNITY. And above all, FREE for the good of community.

    Sustaining Executive Leadership I $1,000
    The Preservation Association of Central New York (PACNY) seeks support to sustain its Executive Director position, an essential investment in revitalizing the organization after decades of volunteer-led operations. This role has already strengthened PACNY’s visibility, programming, and partnerships. Continued support will ensure stable leadership during a critical period, enabling PACNY to build long-term fundraising capacity, create preservation resources, and serve as a strategic advocate for thoughtful development and shared community identity across Central New York.
  • The Sowing Project, Onondaga County
    The Sowing Project Cohort 3 I $1,000
    “Breaking generational curses one thread at a time.” The Sowing Project fosters sisterhood and healing through a safe, affirming, and empowering space. Each cohort engages in structured fashion design lessons, personal growth discussions, and service projects designed to build community and promote wellness. This year’s programming includes: • Sewing and fashion design education • Mental health and physical wellness sessions • Community service initiatives • Healthy meal preparation •An end-of-summer youth fashion show.
  • Open Figure Drawing, Onondaga County
    Updating Our New Home I $1,000
    New easels would impact participant’s ease of set-up and working. After moving to the Delavan Studio last year it became apparent that some of our original equipment was over three decade old and was in need of updating. While we have fund for maintaining equipment, a major investment would require some additional funding support.
  • Friends of Lipe Art Park & Syracuse Parks Conservancy, Onondaga County
    2025 Artist Funding Support I $1,000
    FLAP is seeking funding support to compensate artists participating in the call to create temporary artwork in Lipe Art Park. This initiative includes a mural on the Art Shark, 5 T-panel graffiti murals, and one art flag. The funds will directly pay the artists for their work. The artwork is scheduled for creation starting June 2025. The “Art Extravaganza” event will serve as an unveiling ceremony for the artwork, celebrating our creative community.
  • CNY History Players, Onondaga County
    Premieres of plays recalling CNY history I $1,000
    Free Play Readings with Live Music will showcase CNY history, including 1980s CNY-Salt City Center for Arts; Westcott Nation; and other older lessons for today—CNY immigrant saint Marianne Cope; 3 widows of baseball greats’ unsung contribution to integration (Truxton, Adirondacks, Black South); White, Black: Jewish, Muslim, Christian: soldiers for freedom–CNY Men & Women, integrated three-faith Civil War comrades. County venues (set, probable): OHA; OCPL (Betts 5/31/25, Onondaga Free 3/29, Beauchamp), JCC of Syracuse, All Saints, Interfaith Works.
