$228,089 To Support Artists, Educators, Cultural Organizations, & Heritage Sites in CNY

CNY Arts and the New York State Council on the Arts (NYSCA), announced award recipients of the 2026 NYSCA Statewide Community Regrant (SCR) program. Funding for SCR is made possible by NYSCA with the support of the Office of the Governor and the New York State Legislature.

This year, 113 artists, organizations, and educators from Onondaga, Oneida, Oswego, Madison, Cortland, and Herkimer counties received grants totaling $228,089 to support regional arts and cultural programming. Grant categories include support for individual artists, community arts projects, and arts education initiatives.

NYSCA Executive Director Erika Mallin said, “The New York State Council on the Arts is proud to support the critical work of CNY Arts and fund artists and arts organizations across Onondaga, Oneida, Oswego, Madison, Cortland, and Herkimer counties. Our renowned arts and culture ecosystem boosts our economies, fortifies our communities, and inspires us all. Congratulations to all the grantees—your visionary projects and creative initiatives will enrich and energize the region.”

This funding will help expand programming, increase commissions, and provide arts-related services and education to their communities. Awardees reflect a variety of creative disciplines, and some are dedicated to the preservation of important heritage sites.

“CNY Arts is proud to serve our artists and cultural workers by helping administer these crucial funds,” said Alexander Korman, Executive Director of CNY Arts. “We are deeply grateful to our partners at NYSCA and members of the State Legislature for their hard work on behalf of our creative community. Central New York is experiencing a transformative period of growth, and the arts will play a key role in the development, enrichment, and durability of our region.”

CNY Arts will celebrate the accomplishments of all 2026 SCR grant recipients at two awards ceremonies, scheduled to take place in Syracuse and Utica in June and July 2026.
